Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Fairmount Avenue, San Diego<\/p>\n

Salary Range:<\/strong>\u00a0$176,800.00- $218,400.00 annually, Depends on Experience (DOE)<\/p>\n

Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Dentists are responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures of La Maestra Community Health Care dental patients.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.<\/p>\n

2.Cleans, fills, extracts, replaces, and rebuilds teeth, using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements.<\/p>\n

3.Responsible for making models of replacement teeth (taking accurate measurements and precautions)<\/p>\n

4.Provides preventive dental services to patient, such as applications of fluorides and sealants to teeth, and education in oral and dental hygiene.<\/p>\n

5.Provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care.<\/p>\n

6.Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.<\/p>\n

7.Refer patients to necessary specialist for dental services that cannot be performed in La Maestra offices.<\/p>\n

8.Keep records all dental work done on patients<\/p>\n

9.Maintain complete and accurate record keeping of all dental work done on patients and sign\/approve clinical documentation.<\/p>\n

10.Uphold all OSHA standards, rules, and regulations while ensuring all other dental support staff follow suite<\/p>\n

11.Maintain effective communication and working relationships with other employees and patients<\/p>\n

12.Ensure quality of dental work is within the set \u201cStandard of Care\u201d.<\/p>\n

13.Able to work at different locations if an additional provider is needed.<\/p>\n

14.Mentoring Dental Residents<\/p>\n

15.Will see 16 patients per day or two patients per hour<\/p>\n

16.Other duties as assigned<\/p>\n

    Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Education:\u00a0<\/strong>Degree from an accredited dental school<\/p>\n

    Certification:<\/strong>\u00a0Active unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California, active DEA license, active CPR certification.<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Experience<\/strong>: 1-2 years\u2019 experience practicing dentistry in a community health care setting preferred<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job:<\/strong>\u00a0Bilingual preferred. Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.\u00a0Accurate keyboarding skills.<\/p>\n

    Technical knowledge and skills required to perform the job<\/strong>:\u00a0Comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care in an outpatient setting. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.\u00a0Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Knowledge of communities we serve. Knowledge and experience working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams.\u00a0Skill in analyzing situations and making timely decisions.<\/p>\n

    Physical and Mental Requirements:\u00a0<\/strong>Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and\/or carry up to 20 pounds.
