Program Mission Statement
The La Maestra Family Medicine Residency Program mission statement is as follows:
The La Maestra Family Medicine Residency Program will develop a high-quality training experience. Our enhanced training opportunities will provide a comprehensive education focusing on the IHI Quintuple Aim and advancing Family Medicine through quality improvement and scholarly work. La Maestra graduates will be medically, culturally, and linguistically competent physicians who are also community-focused patient advocates, respecting the dignity of all patients. This will be done within a positive and supportive network of interdisciplinary professionals who share their knowledge to save lives together, ultimately advancing health care equity and improving the well-being of the individual, families, and the greater community.
(The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Quintuple Aim is a framework for optimizing healthcare system performance that includes improving the patient experience, enhancing population health, optimizing resources, increasing care team well-being, and advancing health equity.)
